A troubling study out tonight on pollution and dementia. Researchers have found that chronic exposure to air pollution may speed up cognitive decline in older people. The large-scale study looked at pollution levels typical of many U.S. communities and their impact on women in particular. Researchers found that women exposed to both fine and coarse air pollution particles experienced more cognitive decline over a four year period. The link may be traced to cardiovascular risk which itself could play a role in cognitive decline.
It seems there may be a simple way to protect and even improve your memory as you age. A new study finds that if you put less on your plate for dinner you are likely to remember more tomorrow.
