From euphoric highs to debilitating lows. That’s life with Bipolar Disorder. For many people the symptoms of this mood disorder first appear in the prime of life and during their prime child-bearing years. Now Lawson Research is offering hope to women with Bipolar, but who worry about the possible consequences during pregnancy.


Most babies have less than a 50-percent chance of surviving a condition that’s diagnosed before they’re even born. But delaying necessary surgery to treat the problem is greatly improving those odds.


The Ontario Government has announced plans to open two new birthing centres, where women can have babies with the help of a Midwife.


Concerns are being raised about the health risk for pregnant women exposed to Bisphenol-A.  The controversial chemical used in many plastic products.  Harvard researchers found that baby girls were more likely to develop behavioral problems if their mothers ate or drank from containers with BPA.  Boys didn’t seem to be affected.
