This is World Polio Day. It’s a disease that’s been wiped out in 99 percent of the world. But for those few remaining countries, there’s a push to eliminate it completely. Jan Sims joined other Londoners earlier today for the “Paint Your Pinkie for Polio” campaign kickoff sponsored by the London Rotary Club. It symbolizes the practice of painting the fingers of children in the developing world to indicate they’ve received the vaccine.
