PATIENT TRACKING

Posted on: February 17, 2012

We see them at the airport and now they’ve landed at a hospital waiting room.  A new tracking system, not unlike a flight status board, debuted at Saint Joseph’s Health care in London.  It’s designed to help patients and their families better navigate the process of surgery.  The system features television monitors in the main waiting area.  Patient updates are posted using a case number to protect privacy.  That informs families about when the patient is getting anesthesia, when they’ve gone into surgery and later when the patient is in post op and the family can visit.
