SENSITIVE SKIN APP

Posted on: March 1, 2012

Millions of people have dermatitis, an itchy rash that’s often triggered by reactions to things like additives in skin lotions and detergents. Trying to figure out what products are safe can be daunting, until now. A Mayo Clinic doctor has come up with a smartphone app to help remove the guesswork. It’s called “CARD” short for Contact Allergen Replacement Database. The program is customized for each user and contains a database of 45-hundred products. Users can search for products by category or brand name, and if they contain ingredients that could cause a rash, the app sends you a warning.
